Crash site of Lockheed P38-J15, serial 43-28702, pilot Lt. Liotta.
The aircraft hit high ground (Wellow Down: to the right of this photo) and careered down the hillside
depositing a huge debris trail. The Allison engines ended up in the ploughed field.
Liotta was killed instantly.
This crash site is less than 400yds from the pit in which the JU88 crashed and no more
than 1 Mile from the Aquila S25 crash point at Chessel Down
